Large Calathea Rattlesnake Plant (Calathea Lancifolia) - Live Houseplant
Few houseplants are as ornamental as the Calatheas. And although they are not "NASA grade air purifiers", they do produce a good amount of oxygen and clean the air of carbon; plus their colors!
This Rattlesnake Calathea is an extraordinarily decorative leaf ornamental plant. Its elegant leaves stand out by various coloring and distinct patterns. The Rattlesnake Plant, also known as Peacock plant or Zebra plant, has bright green as well as deep green dots and stripes on the top surface, deep red underneath the leaf, and a textured wavy edge. Certainly one of a kind!
Calatheas are beautiful plants that beautify the living space in a very classy way. During the day, they present their spectacular leaf decoration. In the evening, they perk up and close / roll up. And, while they require some mindfulness in its care, with the appropriate treatment they can live for many years.
This typical rainforest plant finds the best conditions in a warm, draught-free, half-shady location without direct sunlight.
The soil should be neither too try nor permanently wet. Small amounts of water more often is the way to go (1/2 - 1 cup every 3 - 4 days is a good starting point). Dry leaf points mostly indicate a too low humidity. In order to increase it, you can spray the Peacock Plant with lukewarm water more often. Or set up an air humidifier in the room. The warmer the location the more frequently it has to be sprayed. Ideally, you use lime-deficient water in this case as well. Tap water would leave lime stains on the leaves.
Comes in a white, custom-made 6" planter with drainage. 3D printed inhouse with sustainable, plant-based materials.

To alleviate this shock, water your plant lightly upon arrival and wait at least 1 full week before transplanting it to a new container. In the event that the plant is severely damaged during transit, please contact us within 48 hours with a description of the condition of your plant upon arrival and a picture, and we will gladly mail a replacement.
